Redacted

A fictional story inspired by true events, REDACTED is a unique cinematic experience that will force viewers to radically reconsider the filters through which we see and accept events in our world, the power of the mediated image and how presentation and composition influence our ideas and beliefs. A profound meditation on the way information is packaged, distributed and received in an era with infinite channels of communication, REDACTED utilizes a variety of created source material-video diaries, produced documentary, surveillance footage, online testimonials, news pieces-to comment on the extreme disconnect between the surface of an image and the reality of ideas and the truth, especially in times of strife.

Centered around a small group of American soldiers stationed at a checkpoint in Iraq, REDACTED alternates points of view, balancing the experiences of these young men under duress and members of the media with those of the local Iraqi people, illuminating how each have been deeply affected by the current conflict and their encounters with each other. The charged apotheosis of Brian De Palma's filmmaking career, REDACTED caps off a body of work which has explored the politics of image-making and reception more fully than any living filmmaker.

American Gangster

Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, Brian Grazer, Steve Zaillian and Ridley Scott team to tell the true juggernaut success story of a cult hero from the streets of 1970s Harlem in "American Gangster."

Nobody used to notice Frank Lucas (Oscar® winner Washington), the quiet driver to one of the inner city's leading black crime bosses. But when his boss suddenly dies, Frank exploits the opening in the power structure to build his own empire and create his own version of the American Dream. Through ingenuity and a strict
business ethic, he comes to rule the inner-city drug trade, flooding the streets with a purer product at a better price. Lucas outplays all of the leading crime syndicates and becomes not only one of the city's mainline corrupters, but part of its circle of legit civic superstars.

Richie Roberts (Oscar® winner Crowe) is an outcast cop close enough to the streets to feel a shift of control in the drug underworld. Roberts believes someone is climbing the rungs above the known Mafia families and starts to suspect that a black power player has come from nowhere to dominate the scene. Both Lucas and Roberts share a rigorous ethical code that sets them apart from their own colleagues, making them lone figures on opposite sides of the law. The destinies of these two men will become intertwined as they approach a confrontation where only one of them can come out on top.

Washington ("Training Day") and Crowe ("Gladiator") lead a spectacular cast of accomplished and rising stars--including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Josh Brolin, Armand Assante, RZA, John Ortiz, John Hawkes and Ted Levine in this blistering tale of a true American entrepreneur directed by Oscar® nominee Ridley Scott ("Gladiator") and produced by Academy Award® winner Brian Grazer ("A Beautiful Mind") and Scott from a screenplay by Academy Award® winner Steve Zaillian ("Schindler's List").

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas

3D So Real, It's Scary.

"Twas a long time ago, longer now than it seems, in a place perhaps you've seen in your dreams..."

Santa in Tim Burton's THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS

This Halloween, everyone's favorite nightmare will return -- in another dimension. On the occasion of its 13th anniversary, Tim Burton's hippest of holiday classics, THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, will make a ghoulishly groundbreaking comeback to the big screen, seamlessly transformed into stunning Disney Digital 3D. This dazzling new makeover offers a frightfully fun, eyepopping trip into a universe of magic and wonder that remains unlike any other. The film's transformation was led by the original filmmaking team of Academy Award®-nominated writer/producer Tim Burton ("Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Corpse Bride") and director Henry Selick ("James and the Giant Peach") -- and was turned into reality through an intense, frame-by-frame digitizing process spearheaded by the technical wizards at Industrial Light & Magic and driven by a passion for the film's visual splendor and timeless (not to mention occasionally headless) characters.

Donning their state-of-the-art, polarized 3D glasses, audiences will now have the chance to get truly up close and bone-rattlingly personal with the film's cast of mischievously macabre ghosts and goblins. They'll be transported directly into the three-dimensional center of the haunted house-like environs of Halloweentown as its bored Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington, attempts to take over the festive Christmas season for a change of pace. Against the advice of Sally (Catherine O'Hara), the lonely rag doll who has secret feelings for him, Jack enlists three trick-or-treaters -- Lock, Shock, and Barrel -- to help him kidnap Santa Claus. But even when Jack realizes his mistake, he'll have to contend with the evil Oogie Boogie before he can turn things around and restore the holiday's cheer.

Fueled by an unforgettable Grammy®-nominated soundtrack featuring ten infectiously spooky songs by Oscar nominee Danny Elfman ("Corpse Bride," "Big Fish"), who also provided the singing voice for Jack, Tim Burton's THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS 3D will be released in conjunction with a new soundtrack album from Walt Disney Records that revisits the music in equally fun ways. The two disc set will feature Danny Elfman's acclaimed original score, four never-before-released demos from Elfman and a new twist: a collection of covers of the film's most favorite songs from such popular artists as Fall Out Boy, Fiona Apple, Marilyn Manson, Panic! At The Disco and She Wants Revenge.
THE TRANSFORMATION
A landmark film in its genre, the 1993 release of THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS combined the power, enchantment and artistry of stop-motion animation with technological wizardry to create a moviegoing experience that captured the hearts and imaginations of millions of die-hard fans. It simultaneously became an all-time family favorite and attained permanent cult status among the cool. Just as its playful, pitch-perfect sense of Halloween fun made it a holiday standard, its mischievously dark humor and no-holds-barred creativity has made it an enduring video hit among college kids and hipsters -- who admire it, quote it, sing it and even dress the parts at Halloween. For years, every Halloween has been turned into NIGHTMARE season at Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre, which screens the film each October to ever-growing audiences.

Part ghostly love story, part upside-down holiday celebration and part toe-tappingly offbeat musical, this NIGHTMARE was always multidimensional. But now, the classic film that had audiences falling in love with one of the most painstakingly handmade of all animation processes has been brought hurtling into the 21st century and transformed for a new generation to experience in Disney Digital 3D, expanding its legacy of innovation.

Wristcutters: A Love Story

From the moment Zia (Patrick Fugit) cuts his wrists and enters a bizarre afterlife reserved for suicides, this film becomes a strangely uplifting, darkly comic tale about a journey through the hereafter. This is a world where everyone still bears the scars earned from the manner in which they "offed" while the everyday reality is a twisted mirror image of our own mortal world.

When Zia begins his search for his long lost love, he encounters a variety of memorable individuals, be it a disillusioned suicide bomber or an angel in disguise. But it is in Eugene (Shea Whigham), an inscrutable Russian musician, and Mikal (Shannyn Sossamon), an accidental tourist, that he finds his closest friends. This trio of lost souls forms an uncommon bond as they set out on a journey across the afterlife in search of what they could not find in their previous lives.

Reservation Road

To find the truth you have to find out who's hiding it.

Based on the critically acclaimed novel of the same name by John Burnham Schwartz, this is the compelling new dramatic thriller from two-time Academy Award-nominated writer/director Terry George ("Hotel Rwanda"). A tale of anger, revenge, and great courage, the film follows two fathers as their families and lives converge. On a warm September evening, college professor Ethan Learner (two-time Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix), his wife Grace (Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly), and their daughter Emma (Elle Fanning) are attending a recital. Their 10-year-old son Josh (Sean Curley) is playing cello ¬ beautifully, as usual. His younger sister looks up to him, and his parents are proud of their son. On the way home, they all stop at a gas station on Reservation Road. There, in one terrible instant, he is taken from them forever. On a warm September evening, law associate Dwight Arno (Mark Ruffalo) and his 11-year-old son Lucas (Eddie Alderson) are attending a baseball game. Their favorite team, the Red Sox, is playing ¬ and, hopefully, heading for the World Series. Dwight cherishes his time spent with Lucas. Driving his son back to his ex-wife, Lucas' mother Ruth Wheldon (Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino), Dwight heads towards his fateful encounter at Reservation Road. The accident happens so fast that Lucas is all but unaware, while Ethan ¬ the only witness ¬ is all too aware, as a panicked Dwight speeds away. The police are called, and an investigation begins. Haunted by the tragedy, both fathers react in unexpected ways, as do Grace and Emma. As a reckoning looms, the two fathers are forced to make the hardest choices of their lives.

The Ten Commandments

Condemned to die by Pharaoh while just a baby, Hebrew Moses is set adrift on the River Nile by his mother and his sister. Rescued by the daughter of Pharaoh, he grows up thinking he's an Egyptian prince.

Eventually exiled from Egypt when he is exposed as a Jew, he is touched by God, and told that he will lead his enslaved Chosen People to the Promised Land. With the hand of God firmly on his shoulder, and with faith as his only weapon, Moses performs miracles, casts down plagues, evades a pursuing Egyptian army, parts the Red Sea and, after forty years of leading the Hebrew Chosen Ones to the Promised Land, is embraced by God and led to a better place.

What makes this version of "The Ten Commandments" unique is that it highlights Moses’ family, both real and extended, on this long journey.

Filled with high adventure, the miraculous, and a gentle sense of humor, "The Ten Commandments" showcases Moses, the reluctant prophet, who was the only man in Biblical history to see the face of God and call him 'friend.'
